Meaning:
It will be better for me, if the sons of Dhritarashtra – who are
armed; kill me – who is unarmed, in the battle field.
Significance:
Arjuna , whose mind is deluded with the attachment to his people
, who are in both the sides of the army, is now in a state of mind that – he is
ready to drop his weapons in the war-field. He is ready to get killed by the
sons of Dhritharashtra . This is an attitude of a common man ; while we face
hurdles, we tend to leave a deed half-way, though it may cause trouble to us.
If we have a proper person to guide us, their motivating words will be our
mental booster. Not everyone is blessed with a person like that, that is why the
Lord has given us the Bhagavad – Gita. It serves as a Guru for each and every
person in all the situations.
