Significance:

Such a beautiful and significant verse which can be explained for pages and pages. The verse can be picturised by any common man. Bhagavad Gita is the essence of all the Upanishads which talk of way of life, way of attaining purusharthas, way of attaining the Supreme. Not everyone can study all the Upanishads in his lifetime.  So how the knowledge will be transferred. To tell the essence of all the Upanishads we need a person who has mastered them all. Except the Lord himself, Who else can do that. Lord Krishna, who wanted us all to enjoy the philosophy of the Upanishads, and who wishes that we come near and near to Him, came down for us, and gave the Gita by himself. When one studies Gita he gets the essesnce of the Upanishads , which inturn are the essence of the Vedas.

The Lord choose Arjuna , for Arjuna represents us. We are always in a confused state, stuck between the twins in our life .....happiness – sad , truth – lie ; action – inaction etc. We need a Guru to show us the right path in every instance in our day to day life. We will take up a task , but we ll think whether to do it or to drop it, like Arjuna. Everywhere everytime we look upon someone to guide us. Through Gita the Lord Himself comes to our rescue. When we hold His hand , we shall be free from all the misconceptions and confusions. Gita will be read by good hearted people and anyone who reads Gita will surely be good at heart, by His grace and blessings.
